The Celts were an ancient people reputed to be of Indo-European origin who dwelled in Western Europe. Eventually they were driven to the fringes of Western Europe by the powerful Romans and many of the Germanic tribes of the time.
Today a person is referred to as a Celt if he or she can speak the Celtic language, or had ancestors who could do so. Here are some further interesting facts about Celts.
1. Early historical records show that the Celts had relations with other civilizations of the time stretching from Britain to Gallatia (a Kingdom which later became Anatolia). And seemed to have cultural traits more commonly associated with northern Italians in about 400 BC.
